If you can stretch to £180 go for the 7900GTO, if not I think that would be best for you.

    Quick browse on Overclockers gives:

    PowerColor ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB = £188
    Gainward BLISS GeForce 7900 GS SILENT 512MB = £170
    Palit (OcUK branded) GeForce 7900 GS 512MB = £140

Last one is also at Scan here

I'd get that if your budget is £150. It's a nice card for the price.

Ah thanks guys, I have a couple of questions however,

1)does GTO have artifacts problem like GT/GTX?
2)how much overclock do I expect from GS/GTO?

    cheers.

The two 7900's I've had have had no problems, both have been overclocked too.

The GTO is basically a GTX and I currently have mine running at 717Mhz on the core and 788Mhz (1576Mhz Effective) for the memory, for refernce the GTX clocks at 650/800.

core and mem clock speeds are more important at the moment but that may change with newer games.

Let us know how you get on with it - I'm trying to decide between an x1950Pro and a x1900xt.

Don't go for 512meg cards at that price level. For a card to actually need the 512meg over 256meg, it would have to be the high-end sort of card.

The x1950pro 256 is a very good choice. And would perform better than a 512meg x1300. Like I have seen advertised as "512meg graphics!" for some gaming machines.

I went with the x1900xt, That is the faster card. DONT GO BY THE HIGHER SERIES NUMBER (id also recommned the his iceq3 as it's silent)

The x1950pro is less power, and produces less heat. And crossfire2 if your intrested.

I went with the x1950xt, which is faster than both

However the x1950pro is fab card, and was my card of choice, but it was always delayed for stock problems so I bailed and had to get the x1950xt.

I'm actually looking for a new graphic card at the moment to replace my 6600GT and I was thinking of going with either the X1950Pro or the X1950XT... But I can't make my mind up as to what to buy. I have between £130 - £180 thats if I push having the money.

    I'll be running a 19" Widescreen TFT at 1440x900.

Any ideas? Is the extra £50 worth paying for the XT?
