TFT with decent scaling

Is there such thing as a 19" TFT that doesn't look dreadful when you run it at lower resolutions such as 1024x768?

The iiyama screens seem to scale very well.

My Samsung 19" looks fine at 1024x768. At least as good as my previous 17" CRT.
But it doesn't look as good as it does at native 1280.

some old screens (on laptops in particular) looked very very very horrid at stretched ratios - nowerdays they look a little blurry, but otherwise fine

I have personally found that Sony TFT's stand up very well to scaling. I can't personally find any blurring on my screen if I run 1024 x 768 in a game as opposed to my native 1280 x 1024. My friends have sony tft's as well which act much the same as mine does. Samsung TFT's I have found don't do a bad job either.

if you use nvidia driver and dvi (not sure if ATi drive got it) you can use display adapter scaling instead of monitor scaling.
