Looking to finally move over to TFT but not sure which one to go for, looking for one under 180 quid.
Also is widescreen actually a good idea? Does it mean you get a stretched picture?

You have a variety of options with widescreen. Firstly most games allow you to set widescreen resolutions, so no problem. Secondly if they don't, you have the option within your graphics card control panel to either scretch the image or leave black borders around the screen, your choice.
Don't have much experience with TFTs myself though, sorry. Though I can recommend the Lucoms (daewoo) ones - I've seen the 17" one in action and it's brilliant.
The eye naturally sees wider than it does high so a widescreen will feel alot more natural, once you've had widescreen you won't go back. ;D
What is your budget? As I recnetly purchased the samsung 205bw from PC world for £199.99, the 205BW is a 20" screen but you get a res jump when you go to 20" so instead of 1440x900 you get 1680x1050. I've been playing alot of xbox games on the 205BW and it is superb, GoW espessialy.

Definitely agree with that, Currently I use a 15" TFT, a 17" TFT, a 19" WS TFT and a 22" CRT. I find the widescreen 19" TFT very comfortable to work with either for applications or games. Next step is a 22" WS TFT. (If I can find a home for my CRT)
Cheers,
The thing is that I'm going to be using a x1950 pro and i'd like to be using a native resolution close to 1280 x 1024 (or whaterver it actually is ).
A 17" native is 1280x1024 whereas a 19" is te same but the pixels are bigger. Personally would suggest going for something bigger; regret that I did'nt save a little more and go for a 24".
