Hi !
I have Gigabyte video card, model GV-NX66256DP (GeForce 6600 GPU),
My GPU cooled by Zalman Fatal1ty FC-ZV9.
The Ram heatsinks that provided in the package of the Fatal1ty cooler doesn't fit my Ram chips.
I have found out Thermaltake heatsinks that fits my Ram chips
but there are two kinds of heatsinks with an identical dimensions.
The first made of copper,
the second made of aluminum but have more fins.
Which one of these two will give me better performance in overclock ?
The honest answer is neither - just have the ram clean and contacting the air - it won't affect your overclock at all.
But if you want to feel all technical, then it depends on the airflow in your case. Copper transmits heat faster within itself, however it has a smoother surface and doesn't pass the heat on to the air as well. Aluminim doesn't transfer heat as quickly internally, but passes it onto air better, and you'll have more fins as well.
If you have no airflow at all, then go for copper as the small amount of heat disipation into the heat sink will be better than nothing. If you have some airflow then go with the alumimium one. If you have a ridiculous amount of airflow (like a fan directly blowing on the sinks) then you could maybe go back to copper.
Copper also looks shinier, which is an all important consideration (some might say the only consideration given that it's not really going to help the overclock :p)
