monitor resolutions and gfx card limits...

I'm thinking about upgrading my monitor from 17" to a dell widescreen 20" or greater for all the photography I do but wondering about the power of my gfx card and if its up to the job of a bigger display, resolutions of 1680x1050 or even 1900x1600... am I right in thinking about this or is it a non-issue?
I've got a 6600gt (AGP version) - done me well thus far so hoping to hang onto it, plus I've fitted a quiet thermaltake fan on it too - will it be up to the job of say 20" to 24" display?

Depends what you want to do. If you are looking at gaming at 1920x1200 (dell 24") then you'll need an 8800GTX to go with it.

For desktop stuff you should be fine. Just check supported resolutions - should be somewhere under Graphics Properties or on the NVidia site for the card.

if I do any gaming I'll probably use the 17" for that - dual monitors :D
