Send application to second display ?

Alright - I admit it, I know bugger all about displays and graphics cards :O_o1: :O_o1:

I've got a server that at the moment has an old Matrox dual head 400 card in it. I want to be able to use a second monitor as a 'system status' type display, got an old 12" touchscreen I want to use. On my desktop PC (Dell 5150) it's got an option to set up a profile to send an application to the second display - I think it's an Nvidia card.

Is there anyway to do this with the Matrox card ?? If not, what's the cheapest card (new or second hand) that does this.

Have you tried checking the Matrox section on scan?

Don't know about permanently assigning an application to the second monitor... Normally you can just drag and drop the application window across if you are spanning monitors.

Thanks for the answers - Basically I want to use the second display as a dedicated status display - using a Mainlobby GUI (http://www.cinemaronline.com/) Normally this doesn't appear in a window and I need to scale it to use a different res than the main display (19" TFT off a KVM)

If the server restarts then I want it to automatically re-appear on the second display without having to adjust it.

Any thoughts ??

when i have done that, has been based on partic card. Would right click it on taskbar and SEND to 2nd display. then became permanent IIRC

Yep - can do this one my other PC with a Nvidia card. Was hoping I could do it with the Matrox. Save changing hardware again :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
