I've just purchased an 8800GTS from scan's today only page for my system. It's bening delivered on Wednesday and I was really excited...until I read that the 8800 cards aren't supported in vista without drivers. Drivers that don't work on Vista pre-RTM.
Is that right?

Yup - last I heard there were no 8800 drivers for Vista (RC1, 2 or RTM).
Apparently they work, but are appallingly slow - FreeCell has FPS issues...
Yep none as of yet but nVidia are releasing some in time for Vista launch
I'll hopefully have Vista on day of release so it's not really suck a big issue. As long as I can still play Generals: Zero Hour I can cope - just.
How come the 8800 cards have a different driver anyway?

Im also waiting for vista so I can get my 8800GTX up and running and ready for the arrival of Crysis and Alan Wake.
Just need to find a good place to get it from when its ready, and ofcourse which one to get.
