Not widely available due to the cost of manufacture. Some HTPCs have started coming with high res small screens (12" tho)

teh sux, its not like they cant make the panels (look at laptops), I kow the wiring is different but surley they can take the panels and whack on a control board that has DVI?
I know - my 15.4" WS runs at 1680x1050 :)
its true. why hasnt SOMEONE done this?
Yep, I used to have a Dell with a 15.4" 1920x1200 WUXGA screen. I love that resolution, and find it unfortunate that it's not reproduced for desktops at similar sizes (19", as you say, would be perfect).
But a 24" Widescreen monitor at the same res surely kicks its ass :D
But then price wise it isnt great.
isnt great at all. also, just because its not as space constrained as a laptop usually is doesn't mean we all have room for giant monitors (just most of us?)
For my desktop rig I dont want a 24" screen 17 - 19" is fine for me, plus it needs to be lanable :)
Heh, yea mines a Laptop screen.
They bought out 1920x1200 about a week after I ordered mine :( At least I saved about £300 by buying then :)

You do tend to sit closer to a laptop than you do a standard TFT though (well I do anyway), so a bit less of strain on ye olde eyes.
also - on a kind of related point.. 27" and 23" TV's that can do 1080p
To big for my needs though :/
My dream gadget is still a small portable 300dpi screen for reading ebooks properly.
