ARGH!!!
The Netherlands My phone bill is gonna be out of this world by the time i finally resolve this, thanks anyway BUFF!
Have you got the card overclocked at all? it could be something on the dust on the memory chip.
It could be overheating. Reset the heat sink, and reapply thermal paste.
Will
Have a look to see if the Heatsink and fan has dust building up inside it, if so get a vacuum cleaner nozzle or one of those computer cleaning kits and suck it all out.
My brothers was full of lumps of dust and kept crashing the pc as soon as it was cleaned up all was well again.
Have you tried installing an older driver for the card or re-installing the existing one.
Also check all your other fans are working and clean the dust from them also, as your pc may be overheating.
I'll have to try that tommorow, but I honestly think my card has had it, I was playing tactical ops for over 7 hours straight on max settings, and this was while i had left my computer on for over 5 days. Thanks guys, ill give those tips and tell u how it goes tommorow.
I have a Geforce 2 mx 400 m8, and , for all the trouble you are having, and the phone bill lol. Just buy a new Geforce 3 they are pretty cheap, and gf2 isnt worth saving as
1.its useless compared to newer cards
2.It is on the brink of becoming obsolete.
3.Geforce 2 is worth tuppence.. ill sell ya mine for £20 and be a happy chappy afterwards lol :D
by the looks of his sig its a gf4 ti4800?
One thing to watch out for if you go for the vacuuming idea, a vacuum can create static which in turn can damage your hardware so be careful.
I decided to blow the dust out with a can of compressed air. After getting rid of the dust, and plugging it back in, its still not working properly. Less green dots on my screen, but no games work.
Hmm was there a lot of dust built up? if so then perhaps it got too hot because of the dust buiding up and it got too hot and that has caused some damage.
You could try under clocking the memory and/or core of the videocard perhaps you could still get some use out of it that way.
or it looks like it's time for an upgrade :( :)
In my opinion if you do upgrade then a radeon 9700-9800 should do the trick, i upgraded my ti4200 to a radeon 9700np and the speed & image quality increase is simply breathtaking.
But yeah try to get it replaced anyway first, good luck!
If a buy a card, it will have to be the ATI Radeon 9800 pro, but it will mean i cant buy my black widow case :( unless by some miracle i win the lottery :)
You might want to consider a 9600pro, you can get them quite cheap, and they're good value for money.
I was having a look at some 9600XT and the 9800 SE AIW, which got a great review on hexus.net. But if i want to stay ahead, I need the 9800 pro, it will also mean I wont have to upgrade for a long time.
Well myself personally, a really good looking case is nice to look at for a couple of days, but a blisteringly fast computer with all the bells and whistles inside, that will last you years now that i'd rather have ;)Quote:

The 9800 SE AIW (256bit) is very interesting, but only if you can do the SoftMod and make it become a 9800 AIW pro (Only something like 50-50 chance of it working though) :(Quote:

A 9700 isnt much slower than a 9800 pro especially if you overclock it, but they are getting extremely hard to find now (unless you look on ebay, but i'd rather not though)
Have you tried lowering the Memory and Core clock on the video card? just wondering,
I just tried to lower the clock speed, but it did nothing, still same old green dots, really annoying me now.
