    XFX 6800le versus Radeon X1300

Currently have an XFX 6800le AGP in my rig and have the opportunity to grab a X1300 PCI-X for next to nothing. Anybody have a feel for how this card compares to my current 6800le, not really that much of gamer but for some reason I don't want to go down in performance when I come to updating my rig to C2D.

Have looked around the normal places but couldn't really see any direct comparisms to be able to judge.

The x1300 and x1600 were roundly condemmed, by both the press and on gaming forums (fora?), as they are not as powerful as the previuos gen top cards.

If you're not a gamer, and are upgrading your mobo which does not support agp, then the x1300 pci-e card will prob tide you over (you may even find it does all you want).

I believe that the x1300 card would be downgrading from your present card, but unless you use the pc for anything that is graphically demanding, you will prob get away with it.

One thing to remember, no one brags about having an x1300.

    Hope this helps.

Ps you can always upgrade in a few months, if you feel the need.

speed wise you will indeed be talking a dive. also worth checking if the X1300 uses hypermemory or not. if it does then thats EVEN WORSE

Anything in the 6800 range will be quicker than anything X1300 range, and probably quicker than anything in the X1600 range (unless heavily heavily overclocked) and as such, MadduckUK is quite correct....you will experience a significant drop in graphics performance.

6800LE will be quicker than X1300, but I dont agree on the extent of the X1600 tho..

The X1600XT, tho I agree is a very very slow tricycle, I hate it as much as everyone else, is still a fairly ok card.. at least comparable to a vanilla 6800..
    Me want Ultrabook

Have got the card now, it's got 256mb of DDR2 RAM onboard. Friends company purchased the wrong card, it's low profile and as they had opened the packaging their supplier was refusing to accept it back so they were going to chuck it.

It cost me all of nothing. Should tide me through till I decide or need something pokier.
