If you are interested in nvidia the 5950 ultra is the best bet
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=54998

But a 9800 pro is a better buy for price versus performance

Here's a couple of reviews of the 5950 ultra vs 9800 xt.

I've got the 9700 np and the only thing i want to upgrade now is the CPU, my advice is to stick with the 9700 when it starts getting slower see if you can overclock it a bit

I agree with Ravens Nest, the 9700 can take anything you throw @ it, when games like doom3 / HL2 come out, just oc it to pro speeds or beyond.
    (I've got my 9700np @ 325core/310mem, have had it to 360core/340mem [samsung 2.8ns]).......and only £110

    Hi Ravens Nest,

I had the card from www.redstar.co.uk/clearance.asp , but they dont have any left now (I spoke to the sales rep, Steve and he ASSURED me that the card had 2.8ns Samsung as he bought one himself, and it did - he had his @ 370core & 345mem !?!).

PCW had a NV5900 for £95 today but thats all over...

would recommend a sapphire 9600XT for £106 (128mb lite-retail) and £128 (256mb full retail) iirc from www.komplett.co.uk , but if you can spare another 100 defo go for the sapphire 9800pro lite-retail @ £205 from sapphire

Argh a big no no to Powercolor Radeon 9800 Pro cards, I RMA'd 2 recently due to faults, got a Hercules 9800 Pro as an exchange.
Where did you buy them from? just because i have to rma one to overclockers, and i wouldn't mind a Herc as an exchange.
