    ICS betwen laptop and pc

I'm trying to set up Internet Connection Sharing between my laptop and pc. The reason is, I just got Sky Broadband, and the wifi card in my desktop is really slow with the Sky router. However, my laptop (IBM T40 with Cisco Aironet card)works great.

Can someone please give me the settings I need for my pc and laptop to share the internet via crossover cable between my laptop and pc? My wireless network is on 192.168.0.x if that matters.

    Thanks

Erm you'd need to run the ICS setup wizard on the laptop - setting the wireless as the internet connection, the ethernet as the LAN, then you'd simply plug in the crossover cable.

It should set up DHCP etc for you - though set the range to 192.168.1.x to avoid confusion .

Is there any chance that you could move the router to a closer location to your desktop and connect directly to it? Might be less painfull than having both machines on at the same time? My personal preference is that if I don't need to move around with it then there is no point connecting it wirelessly!

agree with Kaos, either run ethernet between the sky router and ur PC or buy a cheap wireless PCI card for ur PC. I paid £15 for one off scan for a second PC upstairs and have no problem streamin video over that connection. ICS is both a pain in the arse and really not a sensible option
