    New C2D E6600 Temps

Having some problems with my new E6600 (@ stock 2.4GHz) and Asus P5B Deluxe Wifi... ive fitted my trusty Thermalright XP90c and am having prolems with the temps... Motherboard reports between 46-49 in the bios. Booting into windows and checking with intels TAT the two cores idle around the 28-31 mark but as soon as i start doing anything the temps start going up... loaded the cores hit the 60's within a few minutes and i can seem to get any better results...ive reseated the heatsink twice and still no better off...these temps seem so high to me

any insight or help is greatly appreciated!

Looks roughly correct to me. My 6600 always reported oddly high temps on the P5B. Open the asus probe, coretemp and tat at the same time and there will probably be around 6-7c difference. I tended to go with coretemp.

A good test to see if the temps are read right is to stick your fingers near the bottom of the xp90, chances are itll be pretty cool if everything is ok

Mine Idles at 34 degrees (in TAT) @ 3.4ghz

and goes to 60 full load.

a mate has the the exact same setup as me but stock speeds and his idles around 46 degrees and goes to about 60 - 65 full load.
I do have very good air flow though.

Luck of the draw I guess.
