    Vista driver assistance please!

Hi, not sure if I'm in the right forum for this but we'll see. Apologies if I'm not.

Recently completed my first (in a very long time) new build and everything went right the first time.

When it came to loading drivers, as you can imagine every driver CD was obsolete as they were produced pre-Vista.

So I then made my way to each components website in the hope of finding what I needed to get things up and running.

Here began my trouble. Beta and released. Which do I go for?

If I list my components is some kind person willing to provide me with links to the drivers I'd need?

OS - Vista Home Premium 32bit

Motherboard - Asus P5B Deluxe - so many driver versions to pick, no clue which one(s) I want
    GPU - XFX 7600GT
    Monitor - Iiyama PLE-1900S-B

I've got everything working, but I don't think all aspects of the Mobo are working as they should, wifi, sound etc, the picture on the monitor doesn't look as good as it could and so on.

Finally, any programs I should be looking at to monitor temperatures from the desktop?

    Thanks in advance

    Sam

ur mobo for the most part is supported out of the box, my AB9 Pro was fine except for its uguru chip, as for gfx, just grab the latest forceware selecting Vista 32bit as ur OS, 97.46 I believe, Im currently running the latest 100.65 beta with no problems.

Some Vista specific drivers for ur system below
Nvidia Forceware for Vista 97.46 WHQL
    Onboard Sound BETA
    Onboard sound WHQL
    JMicron RAID Driver
    Wireless drivers

The soundcard beta driver seems stable according to a friend who is using it

Thanks, I'll give that a try when I get a chance.

Not too keen on Vista at the moment, but I'm sure I'll get there in the end

If you go to hardware device manager and open your problem devices then update the driver and let it search the internet you should find the it will download the correct drivers for what you want.(or have you tried this )

Yup, first thing I did I just got a lot of generic drivers.

Not everything was working as I thought it should so I had a look around and as explained above found a lot of different drivers.

I'll be honest - I have a build on a P5B Deluxe wifi and it just worked fine out of the box with the Vista drivers...

I had another go the other night, and it would appear everything is working just fine.

I think I may have skipped the most obvious shut down and restart step

I put Ubuntu on another SATA drive last night and everything more or less worked straight out the box, first time.

I still have a lot of reading to do with regards Ubuntu though.

I've been using that for a while on various machines but as I get newer, it stays old and seems not to work with the bulk of my newer machines.

    Model number?

Have you tried a generic webcam driver?
