    Triple Monitor Headache

    Good evening.

I have an ASUS P5W64 WS Prof Motherboard with 2 x BFG 7600GT graphics cards in it. The cards are in slot 16_1 & 16_2 on the MB.

I now have 3 Viewsonic 924 19" Monitors (the 3rd one arrived today) but I am havign real trouble getting this third monitor up and running. The intention is to get the desktop to extend across all three monitors.

Display Settings recognises the three monitors (the three LCD icons appear) but as yet I have been unable to get anything to show on it!

Am I missing a trick here? Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Kidn regards,

    Alexis.

yeah, there should be a "extend desktop onto this display" or something very similar (cant see here, only one monitor at work). and that should be it really

Thanks for your replies. All three monitors are not greyed out and the 'extend desktop' option is ticked for the two extra monitors.

In the Nvidia control panel --> Multiple Display Config I see the following:

Card 1 is set up with display mode of 'Dual View' and 2 monitors are selected. This is working correctly (these were the origianl two monitors and card) and the desktop is across both screens

Card 2 is only allowing display mode 'use single display'. I have also just noticed that the new monitor is showing up as ANALOG DISPLAY in the drop down and not the name of the monitor as the other two do on the other card.

In Display --> Settings from the desktop the three monitors are shown correctly by name and the 3 LCD icons appear in a line as they should.

In device manager the three monitors appear however there are an additional 3 'default monitors' shown here. None of the monitors are greyed out.

Any idea why nothing is showing on this Third screen?

    have you turned SLi off?
e! just seen this motherboard, so that question probably doesn't apply.

One thing I have just noticed is that in Device Manager I have the following:

    Default Monitor
    Default Monitor
    Default Monitor
    Viewsonic VX922
    Viewsonic VX924
    Viewsonic VX924

What are the three Default Monitors. I just tried uninstalling them but when I rebooted they returned. Should they be there?

do you have the option for horizontal span? or something other than dualview and clone anyway, as that suggests (to me anyway, from the name) its only for 2 monitors.

as i say i cant check myself from here sorry
