    Vista Killed My Xp Partition!

Today i had to use my ext. hdd on a friends pc, i have a 250gb desktop drive in a heavily modded hardcano 14 with the circuit board of some cheap eBay hdd enclosure. Its actually great performance and has been fine for months. The disk is split into two partitions one is my useful things like work and all of my little customised apps and skins for things the other is my multimedia partition.

The friends pc has vista installed on it and when i left him with it to go to the loo he stole some of my media, a couple of trials biking vids nothing much but when i got back to my machine the multimedia partition now just reads local disk in my computer with no size.

I am quite experienced so i know to check disk management. There xp can identify the correct partition size and identifies its healthy but cant see what filesystem it is using.

I will hold a personal vendetta against vista or my friend once this is resolved i am going to try and get back to his machine and try to recover it. In the meantime anyone have any suggestions?

Turned out all it did was corrupt over 4000 'security index error's and the mft amongst other things. But, to my amazement chkdsk /F actually fixed it and restored it to its former glory.
