Chkdsk - Possible Corruption of.

I am using Windows XP Sp2 Home. When I use chkdsk it only goes through part 1. It used to go through parts 2 and 3 before finishing its work. How can I fix this? Can this file be replaced?

chkdsk /r

chkdsk /? will give you a menu.
