I think i had that card in my 1.4 Ghz athlon system... its got to be 6 years old at least .. although it will allow you to do 5.1 sound

the problem is there is nothng better out there, I just cant fathom why dell dont build good soundcards into the laptops.You dont spend 2k on a laptop andwant to have dire single channel sound.

and how did you have that card "in" you desktop as its an external usb job?

cba to wait, and where the card bus is, is right where i have my mouse. POOR design, means that i have to have my mouse like 5 inches away from the laptop on the right, otherwise il be hitting the bloody audio jacks.
