Question CPU Fan won't start without a nudge

I rescently overhauled my PC with practically all new parts.

When I boot my PC up my CPU fan (Thermeltake Big Typhoon).

    MB: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3
    RAM: 2 gig OCZ 6400
    CPU: Core2Duo E6400
    Graphics Card: Winfast 8800GTS 640MB
CPU Fan: Thermaltake Big Typhoon (Original)
    Power Supply: Antec NeoHE 500W

So basically when I start my PC up I have to spin the fan slightly with a scredriver and then it will start spinning as per normal.

It's asive it is getting just a tiny bit under what it needs to spin, it tries to spin and like jerks when I turn the PC on.
I think it just doesn't have the power to get over the first "bump" as such, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Does anyone know of a solution or known problems with this board?

Use a 3pin to molex adaptor to power the fan directly from your PSU (if it doesn't already have the right cable inbuilt). If it's still struggling, then get a new fan.

The fan worked perfectly on my old board (Asus A8V-MX I think it was)

And I'll have to try the adaptor thing, I'm sure my Dad has one lying around somewhere.

if it is the fan that has gone i wouldnt worry too much as the bigtyphoon just takes a standard 120mm fan

I think I've managed to disable everything to do with fan control in the BIOS.

I forget to mention that on the motherboard it has a 4 pin connector, but the 3 pin connector fits on it.

i.e. The safety thing (So you can't put the plug in wrong) allows a 3 pin fan to be plugged in.

I will have to try and use the fan in another PC.

Hahaha, don't worry about it! I did the same thing when I had the DS3 at first, gave it a little push to get it going!

The DS3 by default only uses the fan when your proccy needs cooling. Just after it's turned on it gives the fan very little power. It's not enough to get big fans going, but enough to make them spin a little if they're given a nudge. The minute your darling C2D gets a work out tho, it'll up the power and kick that fan into gear.

Try testing it yourself - boot it up and start playing a game. It'll start itself when it's needed.

I'll have to test it out

And if anyone could help me out on my other problem, I would greatly appreciate it :
