Graphics card problem
Ok, just wanted confirmation on the cause of this problem, (it always helps to get a second opinion.).
I upgraded my graphics card from an AGP Quadro 900xgl to an AGP Quadro FX 2000. Now I should mention that I run dual monitors at reasonably high resolutions, (1920 x 1200) both through dvi. I simply replaced the graphics cards with the only addition of connecting a molex to the new Quadro FX 2000 as it needed additional power. I made sure that the molex going into the card was isolated and did not have any other components or splitters connected to it, as is good practice. Also I have an Antec True Control 550W psu, so no cheapo make or quality.
I switched on the pc and found that only one of the screens was being powered on, and on that screen was just random characters, very much like artifacts. This was all I kept getting until I removed the second monitor from the secondary dvi port. At this point it then booted up into windows. Great I thought, maybe it wasn't seated correctly. Went back to add the second monitor and artifacts again. This is artifacts in the initial startup screen, the computer did NOT even make it to Windows.
Right, so about now I am thinking maybe I am not giving it enough power to display two screens. I disconnect every other molex or sata power socket leaving only the cpu fan connected and my main boot up hard drive. And this was the wierd thing, now I cant even get one screen to work anymore, just artifacts. I thought maybe I fubarred my motherboard, (DFI NF3 Lanparty, socket 754) so I whip my old graphics card in and its working perfectly, with both screens might I add. I now try the new graphics card yet again and now all I get is a loud continuous beep, not even any artifacts.
Would I be correct in thinking it is the graphics card being DOA? Or have I overlooked something? Surely a matter of drivers wouldnt effect even the card booting up into the start up screen and bios?
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to be as descriptive as possible and to layout all relevant information. Hopefully I will get some help from someone who has been in a similar spot of trouble.
Thanks in advance.

The long continuous beep could be because you forgot to connect the Molex to the GFX card second time around.
Re-try the new card again with one monitor. If it works, uninstall & re-install the Video drivers (you didn't say that you had done this). You may need to faff about with the Dual view settings in the nVidia control panel to get two monitors to work.
If it won't work with one monitor at all, the card is probably a dud. If it'll work with one, but not two it's more likely to be a driver issue.

I did connect the molex the second time around. Also I am aware of driver issues, but within the bios settings and startup screen the card should display a screen, no?

Had another go with the card, and its stopped beeping at me, but the artifacts are still there.
Here are some photos I took of the artifacts, (taken with mobile phone, so please excuse the quality).
