Help with a P5W DH Deluxe please.

Here we go,I have been repairing PCs for donkeys years so I dont usually get stuck any more but this time I am defeated. I bought a P5W DH Deluxe very very cheap as the person who bought it could not get it to run so I thought I would give it a go. Put it together with parts that I know are working(one stick of ram,X600 and a Hyper 580W) so they are definately not the problem. First attempt I used C2D board light lit up nothing. So did the usual clear cmos, still nothing,l took the battery out still nothing. So followed Clunks way removing the cpu and booting for about a minute. Stuck a working Celeron in it and it started but will not post. Gives out one long beep then two short. Took the stick of ram out(of A1) still the same, then tried the stick in A2 no beeps,B1 beeps again,B2 no beeps. The memory is Geil PC6400 rated at 2.1v so not sure if that may be the problem. Just incase it was being funny about the PSU I swapped it for a Tagan 580W and got exactly the same results. Googling gives no definitive answer to the beeps some say memory and some say video. I will swap the X600 for a pci card in the morning but I dont think its the problem. I get the feeling its the ram but its the only part I dont have different to swap out. So before I go and get a bog standard stick to try I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem with this board. Sorry about the length of post.

1 long 2 short is video card falure. Could be the PCI-e slot, try the other one.

    *edit*

I am wrong here, I remeber a guy came in with the same error on the same board. We all thought it was a Video error due to the beep code but it was RAM. try low voltage cheap DDR2 ram.

You may need to check the memory voltage is correct as some motherboards are set to 1.8v which is not enough for some performance modules.

Also some Asus P5W-DH are not loaded witht he revision which supports C2D so a bios update may be needed

Shaithis it is a rev. 02G

jay oasis I reckon I just need some bog standard 5300 and it will be okay. Believe or not I cant find anybody around here to borrow any and I had a rig in for repair a couple of days ago that had some. So I think I will ring him and ask if I can borrow it. Nobody has decent rigs round here at all. I will let you know how I get on. I am praying it works as I got as new boxed and complete for £30.

Thanks Paulm@Scan that is my guess as well.
