monitor won't go in standby

I'm running windows xp pro and my monitor is not going in standby after 5 minutes anymore. I went over all the stuff that I installed within the last couple weeks and nothing out of the ordinary is installed. I'm using the nvidia 7600gs video card. anyone got a clue?

that's the first thing I tried. in the power options the computer is set for "always on" and only my monitor goes on standby after 10 minutes. but it's not going in standby mode.

Have you any programs running that disable your screensaver?
