    Referral Software Help

I don't really know where to begin looking for something that can do what I want so I thought I would ask here.

Basically, I want to be able to give my visitors specific referral links which will all lead to my homepage. I also want to be able to track how many leads are coming from each individual referrer.

So lets say I give a visitor John Doe a referral link similar to this one http://www.whateverhere.co.uk/ref=01 I want a program to a) allow me to use multiple referral links like this and b) be able to track which referral links are being used.

Does anyone know of anything that could achieve this or know anywhere that I may have some luck in asking.

    TIA,
    Tom

I made a suggestion then reread your post and my suggestion made no sense whatsoever

    OK how about this -

Main index page with lots of other "sub index" pages, all with slightly different addys on your site. All subs simply redirect to the main index, but all subs also have individual StatCounter counters, which can be interrogated as to the link source...

    http://www.statcounter.com/ for more info.

yeh I thought about that. I already use statcounter so that wouldn't be hard.

How would I set up the redirection though to my homepage?

Wouldn't I have to copy my homepage loads of times and make an individual page for each referrer?

Yes, but only with an immediate redirect, no need to display anything.

Index.htm is the main page. Then index(named for each person).htm with a StatCounter and instant redirect to index.htm. All your visitors would see would be a small delay and an apparent opening of index.htm. Easy really.

If you are still doubtful, I can set this up as a demo at my own page in an hour or so, LMK.
    Cheers, David
