DVD Drive and related problems
Basically my DVD-RW drive (Asus DVD-RW black), when using it to rip CDs it causes the computer to go all 'stuttery' and so my mouse becomes jerky and my music stutters and becomes broken in sound. It's pretty annoying considering it's a pretty new PC, I've never had the problem before which is unusual. I've tried changing the drive mode from PIO to DMA as I've been told as this might be the problem but it just won't change ):< it keeps on PIO and I don't know how to change it. I've looked in my BIOS as well to see if there's anything on that but I can't find anything there. Please help me sort it out as it's getting annoying when I want to rip a CD and listen to it and work on the PC. The PC specs are as follows:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz
1Gb Micron DDR2 800Mhz RAM
Abit AB9-Pro S775 Mobo
Asus DEW1608P x16 DVDRW
And other stuffs which I doubt have any relevence to it (Graphics, power, HD etc.) and the PC runs Windows XP Home. So if you have any idea please help out :)
Thanks,
Skyrail

Re: DVD Drive and related problems
Major thread revival (I can sense the iminent posting of Batman pics)
But if the OP isn't listening, the first thing you need to do is download the most recent, correct drivers from the manufacturers website should be under support somewhere. Then install them mate.
Re: DVD Drive and related problems
