Best place to host a blog?

I am looking to set up a blog, as I will be abroad for a while and would like to post info and pics of what I am up to for friends and family to catch up with, rather than emailing them.

Where is a good place for this sort of thing?

I am willing to pay something in the order of £15pa if it gets me any worthwhile features you don't get on free blogs.
Bandwidth demands will not be huge, and I am not bothered with integrating video etc.

    Anyone got any experience?

Do you want to load blogging software onto a hosting service and administer it that way? If that is the case Wordpress is pretty good software (I host a blog on my home PC using that software. The downside is that the host needs to support PHP and MySQL as both of these are dependencies for Wordpress (and I guess most other blog software).

Better (IMHO) to use a specific blogging site (as the previous posters have recommended, such as wordpress.com, bblogger, and many others. www.wordpress.com is the commercial arm of wordpress.org (who provide the open source software).

www.wordpress.com gives details of their (US based) hosting service (free), or look at www.blogger.com (again US based - but free)
