Nero 7 Help Please?!
I am currently running Nero 7 on my laptop but I am having issues with it. When I make a DVD from an AVI file through Nero Smart Start, it recodes the AVI back to DVD format and then burns it to a DVD disc.
The movie plays as an AVI and DVD file on my computer perfectly. It even plays the DVD disc perfectly. However when I put the disc in the DVD player it is a little "jumpy".
When the camera pans left/right or up/down it isn't a fluid movement but more of a frame by frame effect. I can only explain it as jumpy. I have heard that Nero 7 is more compatible with Windows Vista (I am running XP) but I don't know if this is true??
I have tried reducing the burning speed to 2X, but the problem is still persisting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It has been suggested that it is something to do with lossy or lossless compression???
Can anyone please help???

not sure if it'd cause what you're experiencing but some dvd players don't get along with some types of media discs.. The fact that it plays fine on your computer rules out (to me anyway) a problem with the encoding or even the burning process.
Is your player the cheapest you could find? I know mine is, and I regret it deeply :)

It does sound media related as unxetas says, have you tried different media or played it on a different DVD player? TBH I always use Verbatim's you generally can't go wrong.
