    Question Asterisk PBX Software/Hardware

I have already created a thread about setting up a telephone 'network' which has resulted in me looking at Asterisk PBX software. I understand what the software does but I get a bit lost/confused when it comes to the hardware requirements, and therefore the likely costs involved.

I want to set up about five phones on a PBX using one incoming NTL (VirginMedia) line. Originally I just wanted them to be able to dial out via cat5 cabling but looking at this software I could get a lot more for my 'money'. Any help/advice appreciated.

ip phones would be the best way to deal with it. As I said in the other thread, it's will involve work but lotsa learning and some major cool points at the end!

At the moment I have a BT dect phone and a basic analogue one. I would be happy to ditch them both if the cost of ip phones is not too expensive and they give me better functionality. I will have a look at a few. Any suggestions.
