Question Need help nothing on monitor

hi all, just upgraded to dual core, have installed new conponants but my monitor says no input.

    the speca are

    Abit nf m2 nview
    Amd x2 5200+
    Corsair 2Gb (2 x 1Gb)
    6800gt
    Corsair 620watt psu
    80gb hard drive
    Dvd drive

everything apart from the graphics card, hd and dvd drive is new, i have been using the psu with my old system to test it and it was the only thing i could use while i was waiting for the ram to come.

does anyone know what the problem is, or had this problem before.

    Thanks in advice

No input on monitor, but are there the usual startup noises, fans, hd, etc.? Do the hd leds show that there is power to them? When you press the button on the dvd drive does it open? If yes to those Qs, then it would appear that your psu is fine.

Have you conected the power (if one is require) to the graphics card? This is an easy one to forget, and results in no signal to the monitor.

Try taking the graphics card out, and re-inserting it (firmly, they need to be properly inserted, sometimes with force).

Try (after the above) the monitor cable in each of the sockets (it maybe that one of them is damaged, and sod's law insists that you use this socket first), obviously if this enables the monitor to work, then the g card should be returned as faulty to whoever you got it from.

    Hope this helps.
