I recently upgraded my memory from 1GB to 3GB (bought 2GB Corsair XMS DDR2 Twin2X 5400 C4). Well windows was working just fine for about 1 week then the random restarting began. I have no clue what could have caused this sort of problem.
Question: I initially had 2x 512mb Corsair Value Select 5300 C5 installed on my system, now upped to 3Gb, could the problem be Corsair VS being incompatible with XMS ram??? Help...:confused:
What speeds are the RAM's?
Also do a Memtest.
Take out the two sticks of 512MB and let us know how you get on.
If it was the memory though you would normally find problems at boot-up. What are you temps like?

Certainly pionts to ram, but psu is another thing to cheack. Did you use an anti-static wristband when you did your mem, last time i upgraded i got the same prob and i have since bought myself a wristband.
Yeah, you do have a point, I did wear a wristband (always do). i ran Memtest and it instantly gave me errors. Now Im going to test each module seperately and c which specific ram stick is the culprit. Would switching memory banks help in any way? Another thing, I did not set the timings in BIOS, left it on auto. Should I try that aswell?Quote:
