Dell 1905FP (UltraSharp) OR Dell E228WFP (Value)

    Hi All,

Simply wondering what item is better to have...

2x 1905FP (UltraSharp) currently in use, working fine, no backlight bleed USB hub built in, tilt/pivot...etc...
    19INCH
    OR

2x E228WFP (Value Panel) boxed brand new, not tried yet, but told these suffer awful backlight bleed and that the picture is not as good as the ultrasharp range...
    22INCH

What panels would you have and why?

    Thanks!

I'd go for the 1905s for two reasons:

    1) I used one at my last job, and found it to be an excellent monitor. I use computers all day, and found it made a massive improvement of how tired my eyes were at the end of the day compared to my old no-name 19" LCD.

    2) Two Widescreen monitors side by side looks funny!

I'd agree - I think 2 x widescreen monitors would make your neck hurt!

Everything seems to be going widescreen however and I can see the advantage of it especially if you are only running one monitor. For multiple monitor setups I really don't see the advantage of 2 x widescreen. The great thing about multi-monitor setups is the ease at which you can have two windows, side-by-side, one on each monitor. I'd never go back to a single display now. But two widescreen monitors seems crazy from a practical perspective!

So prob better to sell on the 22" panels and keep the 19" panel, by what most people have said, (work mates said keep the 19" too)

    Or get a single 22/24TFT?

    2TFT's are quite handy however..
