TBH it depends on the type DVI connector, there are several different flavours, DVI-I, DVI-A etc

Otherwise how would my DVI to VGA adaptor be running this monitor?

Well weird if it dont have one

If you only have DVI as an input into the TV, there is no easy way to do it im afraid.
    well spotted

Steve B, can you just save us a lot of time and get a photo of the back of the TV?

Will this do for the connectors?

6 of 62 and 17 of 62 respectively in the PDF.

I dont understand why the DVI doesnt work, you are choosing the right input arent ya? Your original post says AV not DVI

Its not that simple im afraid.

You only usually (although not always!) get the different flavours of DVI on the system outputting the signal. This allows a plug to link the pins of the analogue D-sub to the corresponding ones on the DVI socket.

Ive never seen a device that will accept analogue over DVI as an input (im not saying they dont exist, im saying they are very uncommon)

It wont work because the Xbox is feeding the digital socket an analogue signal without the ability to display that signal.

I had a look at the manual

you should have a DVI to component adapter with it. So while there's no native component connection, you do have an adapter. So with that in mind, use the component cable that came with your Xbox360 (premium I assume) connect the video cables to the adapter, plug that into the DVI. Then with the two left over, you'll need to get a convert to put that into the DVI audio in stereo jack

•Front / Side connections: CVBS in, Headphone out, S video in, Audio L/R in
    •AV 3: DVI-I with HDCP, Audio-in mini jack 3.5mm

You shouldn't need to buy any additional adapter, there should be one included when you bought the TV. The adapter you linked is for ATI graphics cards, and converts DVI to component, the reverse of what you're looking for. I'm not sure if it would work the other way round or not.

As the manual states it's a cable, it probably looks a bit more like this but you'll then need something like this to connect the xbox to this adapter cable

is the 360 switched to "hdtv" rather than "tv" on the little switch at the xbox end of the cable?

Re: Xbox 360 to Hd Tv

And is HDTV set up in the dashboard? A lot of my mates plugged in their 360s to their HDTVs (via component mind you) but hadn't changed the option to 720p or 1080i in the dashboard.

    My System: Coolermaster Centurion 5 (black) case, Intel E6750 Core2Duo, Tagan Easy-Con 530W, Asus P5B Deluxe WIFI, OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC, Samsung SpinPoint 200Gb SATA2 / 2 x Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200Gb SATA, 256Mb Sapphire ATI PCI-E X1950PRO, Creative X-Fi Xtreme 7.1, 19" Daewoo W9ZQ Black Widescreen TFT, 4Mb Virgin Cable Broadband (formerly Blueyonder) with Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G and DD-WRT firmware.
