what if i overclocked to 3.2 ghz lol will that be like 80c-90c ? over heat lol

Somethings not right there. I go by TAT normally as it gives me the highest temps (worst case).

mine under an arctic freezer and a scythe ninja has been been low 20's idle mid 30's full load @ stock settings.

at 3.4 mine only reaches mid 50's under load...

Is the HSF secured properly and the paste evenly and thinnly spread?

I'd be inclined to remount the HSF, also when you take it off see what the spread of thermal paste is like. Did you use AS5 or the one that came with the CPU? if the 1 with the CPU what was it a pad on the bottom of the CPU or a tube of paste? If it was a pad then did you take off the protective plastic?

Also what happens right now if you try and move the HSF whilst mounted side to side, don't exert too much force but this will give you an idea of how securely it's mounted.

well i used the one came with the asus cooler

and do u mean i have to take the HSF and the CPU out of the motherboard and put it in again ?

You shouldn't need to take the CPU put, if the Asus cooler cam e with some paste and you have some left over then remove the heatsink, check when you take it over how well it's spread and what the contact is like, then clean it all and re-apply and see if it makes a diff.

xD when i took the HSF out its only had tiny bit sticked at the bottom lol then i use the other half thermal compound on the CPU and put the HSF back then move it around lol so its atcually work horray 20c-30c down

but another question about the CPU ive already disable the EIST/speedstep and my core speed still jumping between 1.6 ghz to 2.4ghz is there anyway to change it without bios ?

Why do you want to do this? It allows you to keep everything cooler (and burn less electricity) by dropping the CPU speed when it isn't needed. I've been doing this on my A64 set up for over a year with no ill effect.

hmm because my mate did exaclty the same and turn the speedstep off and he get more perfomance.

first he had the speedstep enable and he went to the CSS test then he got like 172 fps after that he turn speedstep off he got like 242fps

E6600 cpu same as mine

youre really not going to notice the difference between 172 and 242, at that high its just about stats

Temperatures are not right.
Are you sure CPU was properly installed? e.g. the heat sink firmly sticks to the cpu?

lol yup, problem and solution has already been established.
But scary temps, Wouldn't have left the machine on for too long at those load temps.. TAT readings would have been crazy!
