Nvidia chipset to set up Raid0

Has anyone used raid0 with Nvidia's nforce4 chipset?
I tried setup raid0(two ST 250G SATA2) with my Asus A8N-E motherboard(nforce4 ultra), and tested with HD Tune, found the speed is not as fast as expected. The average transifer speed is low, only 67MB/s, as I got 62MB/s with a single Hitachi 160G hard driver.

Anybody knows why? I've already upgrated the newest nforce raid controller driver.

    Thanks for reading.

I've had two different NForce 4 boards, one Gigabyte K8NXP-9 and one ASUS AN8SLI-Deluxe (not the present) and run both RAID-0 and RAID-1, and RAID0+1 on them. My experience is that NForce 4 is not as awesome with RAID performance or stability as one would hope. Having said that, SiSoft Sandra told me I was getting 88MB/sec off two Hitachi T7K500 250Gbs.

I've had both setups fall off both boards entirely, with the obvious loss of the stripe and, thanks to the First Law of Sod, loss of two drives in the 0+1 (the way you lose everything). I decided 3Ware was my friend.

Of course, everyone's mileage may vary...

I'm using a RAID 0 stripe on my Asus A8n-Sli Deluxe. The Raid array has only collapsed once in about two years, and even then it didn't actually lose the data (know idea how). I think the transfer speeds are dependant on the stripe size. My setup gives me an average transfer of 93Mb/s and a burst speed of 340.7Mb/s. (Using HD Tach).

Yep, and you pick your stripe size dependant on what you want to do....

Hi, all, thanks a lot for your reply! I set up the stripe size to be 128b (kb?)
