    USB Causing Reboot.

Ok, I will get straight to the point.

When I plug in my MP3 Player to my PCI 4 port usb2 card my pc reboots (as if I have pressed the restart button). If I plug the mp3 player into a different USB socket (one on the front of my case) it doesn’t reboot, it works perfectly. Also if I remove my WD Mybook (independently powered) from a motherboard USB (in which it works perfectly) and plug it into any of the 4 in the PCI card the computer will reboot.

This has got me confused, do you think that there is some issue with the PCI card, or do you think it’s a PSU issue.

    Thank you in advance.
    Edward

I've seen a similar thing when plugging stuff into the ports on the front of the case. I put it down to some kind of static discharge/ports not being grounded properly (the device was a simple flash pen drive).
