    Question USB problem

I am having problems with My USB not recognising new cameras and memory sticks. The first one I iused for both types of equipment works fine? If you try to read via the add hardware it asks you to add the driver by disk, but A XP system is supposed to load automatically. If You go to the the suppliers web page they only have drivers for window 98 etc.
I contacted Mesh Technical and received the following via email, but it did not work.
How can I solve thsi problem.

Please perform this step to install usb-reg-edit on your computer :

Click on the Run and type Regedit.

In regedit use the following path

    Hkey_Local_Machine \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Current Version

Once you click on current version in the right hand windows you should find and entry for DevicePath right click it and select modify and enter C:\Windows\Inf and click .

Reboot the PC and try the USB device again.

Have you tried the device in another usb port? It may just be a damaged port, in which case the others should work fine.
