    Q6600 Overclocking Help!

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of a possible step by step guide to overclock my q6600 i saw a core2duo overclocking guide in here somewhere would that be really just the same or is there a few more things i needed to know apart from the obvious more cores more heat. I will be getting a much better fan too. Im a total newbie at overclocking and would like to learn what to do! A list of my computer is found in my profile unless its automatically posted below.

    Thanks

First off, what the heck do you need to overclock this for. There is no software on the market that I know of that will even use 3 cores.

Secondly just follow the C2D overclock guide. Thats what I did, just becareful with the extra heat output and you should be fine.

I see you have a 680i board, my guide is based on the 965/P35. This should help you along though. You can reference my guide for general stuff, and if you get stuck, just make a thread in general hardware and more people will see it there and youll get better answers.
