Hey all i was wondering if you oculd help me with my gfs computer.

My gf has had her computer less than six months and ever since the first day she had it running the sound randomly and continuosly goes up and down reguardless of what she is doing...on the internet..she gets no sound from vids.

I was wondering if anyone could help...she has brand new speakers and is still getting the same problem she had when she had old ones.

What OS? On board sound or discrete sound card & manufacturer?

Its onboard sound and the mobo is a Asus i believe, im not there at the moment so not sure.

OS is XP

Re-installed/up-dated the drivers?

pretty much a brand new install..all up todate, i went through and checked last night....

ANyone got any ideas what this could be...my gf has just said.. i pause itunes, and it pauses all sound. i turn itunes down, it turns all sound down. i cant listen to anything without listening to itunes too.

Could it be Itunes causing it? or could it be her Logitech G5 keyboard?

are you turning itunes down using the keyboard? or the volume slider in itunes?

Both ways with same results.

Also i noticed she gets no sound from video clips on the internet but as soon as someone messages or signs into msn you get a brief second of sound....
