Hi all,

My HTPC has 4 on board SATAs all taken up by HDDs, and I've jus bought the Pioneer BD-Rom drive for it, which is also SATA. Soooo, I got hold of a Via VT6421a chipset SATA card to give me 2 extra channels, 1 for the BD-rom, the otehr for the last HDD bay in the case.

However, no matter what I do, I can get it working... Xp and Vista both see the card, but cannot find drivers for it. I've tried Windows Update, the Via website, the drivers that came with the card, DriveGuide.com and the online driver check on Via's site. Each time I get told that drivers are not available.

So, I manually forced drivers for the VT6421 (not the a revision) from the card's driver disk. Windows now sees the card. However, the BD-ROM or an HDD does not appear in Windows if it's attached to the card. I've tried both internal ports.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Niall
