Will a DS3 post without RAM?

Just installed the CPU(e6420), HSF(scythe ninja), connected the power supply (Corsair 520hx) to the motherboads (DS3-965P) using both 24pin ATX and 12v connector.

I only wanted to check the noise levels of my fans.

So I powered on expecting error beep codes (DRAM/VIDEO/etc).
But what I heard were the error beep codes for POWER!! (Short continuous beeps)

The pc would boot play the short beeps, power down then power up again playing the beeps.
It will cycle through this indefinately until i either switch either the powersupply switch or mains switch off.

Should I be concerned?? I'm really ****ting it as it's taken me a few months to research parts/buy parts.
Or should I just assume i'm getting these errors because there's no ram installed (although the beep codes are for power and not ram.)

It won't POST without RAM.
To be honest, the beeps are wildly inaccurate anyway, More-so without a complete system build
