Cant install Games, even with CD or even if ive made a virtual drive for it.

with every game i buy i the CD or scratch it to **** so i normally mount them onto a vurital drive or whatever you call it use Alchohol 120% or PowerIso, its worked with call of duty 2 SP and Doom 3 SP and COD, COD:UO all baught games, ive just recently buaght Quake 4, with or without CD i get this Message
"The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in the memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:/WINDOWS/system32/SHELL32.dll occupied an address range reserved for Windows systems DLLs.
The vendon supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL."

then the install screen for Quake 4 closes, i have no idea what this mean's nor how to sort it out do i need to download a new DLL. thingy :S completly confuzled

Erm, when you Google searched the problem and clicked the first link, that was a problem with the Realtek Audio Control Panel not functioning correctly. It's about as related to this problem as Saddam Hussein's beard was.

Try this one instead: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/165152 (only applies if you upgraded from NT4, apparently).

If you're somehow managing to scratch CDs and now can't install them it suggests to me you may need a new CD player. Don't bother with virtual drives as they're illegal if you're using them to bypass copy protection - several modern games just won't work if you have them installed too.

Im with windows XP and not quite sure what NT4 is =], and even if you have baught the game its still illegal, thats rediclous, i just use it so i dont have to use a CD everytime or take one out and put one in and so fourth, and no the CD Player runs the Cd's all of them, i just have this problem with quake for i have no idea why :/

Fair enough. NT4 is the operating system that Windows 2000 and Windows XP was based on as they moved from the old DOS-driven Win95 and Win98 and WinME, though ME overlapped the transition Win2000. NT4 was primarily used in workstations and servers rather than in home use.

Ok now it wont even let me install COD:UO after i uninstalled cod and cod:uo, it let me install COD but when it came to UO it came up with the little installsheild thing that closed and nothing. kinda starting to get p***ed off :@

Its when im trying to install the game it says that or the installsheild 7.5 small little box opens and closes then nothing, but the C:/WINDOWS/system32/SHELL32.dll is in there sitting pretty meaby beucase i have two of them on my system i dont know im not very good with technical stuff hence the point of these forums to help me, not for 80 people to view it and for 4 people to take the time to try and help me

Quake 4 (as far as I'm aware) used a type of copy protection called SafeDisc which caused installs to fail if virtual drives (such as Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% etc) were present. Not sure about CoD:UO though.
