    Overclocking - i'm so confoosed! :(

heyhey folks i'm looking to do some overclocking on muh rig but i'm stuck on a few things
basically i understand the multiplier stuff and all that, its the FSB to CPU ratio thingybobber thats got me bamboozled

the thing is i have PC8500 RAM (2x11gig OCZ), but on CPU-Z its showing up as PC2-5300 on the SPD tab
is this because its set to run at this speed in my bios ?
my CPU is the E6750 333x6 (about to bump to 8)
so do i need to change my FSB to get my RAM running up to the speed its rated at ?
sorry for the newbie questions just a lil stuck on all this

    setup:
    P5K-E, E6750, 2x1024mb OCZ 5-5-5-15 PC2-8500

    Clunk's the man you need.

And if you don't need the man, check his sig for info.

I think, if you arent understanding the stuff in those guides, its probably best that you arent tinkering in the bios. Please dont take that the wrong way

Regarding the RAM thing, click the last link in my sig.

    Re: Overclocking - i'm so confoosed! :(

prolly quite surprisingly i used to do a lot of system building and upgrading and overclocking
but been away from it all for years and i've forgotten so much **** its annoying as hell
anyway boosted it to 400fsb and 8x multiplier, still only 30c on full load

a quick Q about CPU-Z - the SPD tab reports it as PC2-5300, is this reading it from the RAM itself or can it be a mistake ? just i bought PC2-8500 so hoping its a mistake with CPU-Z otherwise i'ma take a midget and go beat up some ppl at micro direct
