    Display keeps flickering

    Hi all
Just upgraded to a quad cpu so have a new motherboard as well(Abit ip35pro) and decided to install vista 64.
Now my display keeps either flickering or for a split second drops to 4 displays on the screen then back to normal, i have all the software upgrades and everything is fine apart from this.
    Any help?
    Thanks

Try new drivers for the GPU make sure there for vista 64.clean out all drivers with http://www.drivercleaner.net/index.php including the motherboard ones and start again.

    Re: Display keeps flickering

i had this problem with my ATI card, which eventually went kaput after about 2 months of it flickering (bit like the refresh/resolution change on initial startup when the screen goes blank then enables again), when it finally went kaput, it was like the screen had gone into power saving mode. sometimes after i switched on/off, it failed boot (8 bleeps from ami bios means graphics card memory read/write problem)

try the card in a different pc if you possibly can, but this could be the card on it's way out.

it could also be that if you have upgraded your mobo & cpu and stuff, make sure your PSU has enough power.. not sure on power requirements for a quad core cpu, but i would have a guess that you would be requiring something in the region of 600W+
