Upgrading Blackberry
Hi, We're in the midst of arranging for a whole load of new blackberries to replace our old ones, but there's a bit of a quandary around changing the users. I presume that when we assign the new handset to a user, the old handset becomes useless, but does that mean we have to have 2 or 3 days without service for our users who are remote workers?
We're using BES with exchange.

Re: Upgrading Blackberry
I don't fully understand what your asking but here is my input anyway...
When you upgrade the handset its just a case of swapping the sims and then reactivating the account by setting the activation code in the users profile on the BES server and then running the Enterprise Activation wizard on the handheld. The only downtime is the time you switch off the old one to the activation completing with the new which I would estimate at about 15 minutes.
Is this not the case?

Re: Upgrading Blackberry
Ah, I think that's how it should be, but Enterprise Activation doesn't seem to work for us, and our end user knowledge isn't too great so we want as little for them to do as possible.
I should probably add that we're switching providers as well, to T-Mobile, but keeping the same BES...
