    ECS Board Temp Readings

    Hi all

I am having an issue with my ECS board reading temperatures around 53 C - 55 c in the BIOS settings heath status screen.

There was a thread I found on Hexus that actually addressed this issue with a similar board and perhaps someone can help me out.

    My specs are as follows

1.) AMDX2 Athalon 64 dual Core 4400 (retail version with boxed huge copper heat/fan)
    2.) ECS motherboard RS482-M version 1.0A
    3.) Two Maxtor 80GB drives
    4.) 1GB Corsair RAM
5.) Aluminum Ultra PC case(gladiator version)
6.) two 120 thermaltake fans back and front of case
7.) running WinXP Pro x64 version
    8.) no floppy drive installed
    9.) Benq DVD drive
    10.) Lite-on CD drive

I have downloaded the correct BIOS update files but the Winflash app does not work -
tried to burn the AMI flash app on DVD disc to boot up but this also does not work.
the temp readings in windows using Everest Ultimate edition reads 46 C - 49 C under normal conditions. Jumps to 51 C - 52 C when using higher resource apps. Perhaps the resolution on the above linked thread i could use on my board?..ECS appears to be very slow in responding to customer issues via email. would I really need to update the BIOS for this issue or leave as is?. system has been running great with no visible problems or behavior.

I am aware that ECS have appeared to address the temp reading issue with this BIOS fix however i cannot flash this properly.

    any help is greatly appreciated

    X

    Re: ECS Board Temp Readings

Your going to need a trusty old Floppy drive mate, as it looks like all else has failed.

Try speedfan it might give you better readings,or the temps could be right?
