wireless keyboard displaying wrong characters
I have the following keyboard to use with my media centre http://www.ebuyer.com/product/106486
I have been using it with vista for a while with no problems. I recently did a reformat and reinstall of vista and since then then keyboard displays the wrong characters for quite a few keys.
Its not a battery issus as it works fine when plugged into my laptop.
It doesn't need a specific driver as it uses ones included in vista.
Any ideas what has gone wrong? i originall thought it was due to it being plugged in when i installed vista so i reformatted and installed again without it attached but got the same problem
Any ideas please!
Re: wireless keyboard displaying wrong characters
What language it Vista set to?
What keyboard layout is selected in Vista?
which characters are wrong?
If you have a US layout on a UK keyboard, '@' and ' " ' will be the wrong way round. for starters.
Re: wireless keyboard displaying wrong characters
its all set to uk english.
I'm getting lots of strange ones i.e ' - ' instead of ' p ' and ' * ' instead of ' 0 '
Re: wireless keyboard displaying wrong characters
ahh, i have just worked out that it must be a problem with the numlock key as the characters correspnd to the alternative numlock charaters for those keys.
the keyboard has no lights on to say if numlock is on or not.... The key seems to be stuck down. Hopefully a little work with a screwd driver will solve it!
Re: wireless keyboard displaying wrong characters
that was going to be my other suggestion :)
That happens to me when i switch for using my dektop keyboard to the built in laptop one
