Windows Log On - automatically logs out

    Hey,

A little problem with XP SP2 Home on a Dell laptop. Basically antivirus (NOD32) deleted some files, believed now to be critical and that meant that you could never log into Windows again. Basically you enter the password and then it proceeds to automatically log out before it actually gets to the desktop.

We have done a recovery and repair on the computer but still no luck. Any ideas?

    Thanks for your time,

    Tim

backup all your files using a linux live CD, and reinstall.
