TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
Hi Guys,
I've recently had call to re-image a PC and installed latest vid drivers.
The problem I'm having is that when the res is lowered (1024 x 768 say) all items on the display become surrounded by a 'fuzzy' border.
If I increase the res to beyond 1024x768 it's okay.
I've not seen this before - anybody have any clues?
Thanks folks,
Akira.
Re: TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
TFTs have optimum resolution settings - set by the physical pixel spacing. If you operate it below that you may get the results you describe.
Re: TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
Cheers for that.
The monitor is a bog standard HP jobbie and has worked fine on lower res' until the re-image, so technically it is capable of doing so.
Thanks again Pete,
Akira.
Re: TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
Hmm - interesting! What happens if you put the old drivers back in?
Re: TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
Well, it was fuzzy with the ones that came down with the image so I downloaded the latest drivers from the hp site, installed and rebooted but the prob persists...
Re: TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
OK - I was just a bit confused when you said that it had worked OK at lower resolutions...
Re: TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
Hmmm, it's a doozy alright - as I mentioned about, never seen this prob before and I can't find any helpful info via the web either (except for Hexus of course ;-)).
Cheers again,
Akira.
Re: TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
Make sure that when the monitor kicks into a lower resolution that the refresh rate hasn't been knocked up from 60Hz. I've known that to cause clarity issues on some cheaper TFTs.
Re: TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
DVI or Dsub?
Using Dsub on some TFT's can cause this :)
Re: TFT Fuzzy Image on Low Resolutions
yup, check it's native resolution and keep it at that.
If that doesn't work then check cable, pins, drivers.
