    Bugger the BSOD is back!!

    hi got a bad problem with my other pc, fired it up and just as it stared to load up windows xp, i got the BSOD with this error..

    STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
    The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000026c (0x00000000 0x00000000).
    The system has been shut down.


    Arrrghhh, plz someone help.

    Does it do this if booting into safemode? The MS knowledgebase lists it as a prob with winlogon.
    GoBack causes a Stop error C000021a
    How to troubleshoot a "STOP 0xC000021A" error

    Had you installed anything prior to booting?

    i've tried..
    Safe mode
    Safe mode with command prompt
    Last known good configuration

    and this all stops with the same error??

    No, it repairs the windows installation, it's not like a format & install. You may have to re-install the odd program or device, but that's about it. Docs, downloads, music etc should all still be there.

    If poss, you could slave this on another PC and transfer any really important stuff onto another drive just in case.

    ok, well i loade dup the xp disc and went into repair,
    it said..

    Microsoft Windows(R) Recovery Console

    The Recovery Console provides system repair and recovery functionality.
    Type EXIT to quit the Recovery Console and restart the computer.

    c:\>

    i then tryed typing c:\>dir

    and it said this..

    Directory of c:\>

    An error occurred during directory enumeration

    WTF??

    Personally, I'd back up your essentials and perhaps go for a fresh install matey.
