    Graphics Problem.

    Hi Guys,

I currently run an old MESH Athlon 64 3500. running ATI Radeon 9800, and tonite while playing a game the whole thing went down and has loads of either diagonal/vertical/horizontal distortion in the graphics.
    Picture contained below.

    &

I cannot get rid of it and dont know what to do! This isnt the first time I have had problems like this the last time the PC had to go back to base to have another card put in. with the manufacturers warranty now exhausted and a new machine not possible til feb, I need a way of sorting this out by potentially finding settings on the machine that may correct it?

    Any ideas?

looks like your gfx card is going the way of the dodo. your best bet is goign to be picking up a new AGP card ( i assume its AGP) .
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I had a similar issue way back on an old 6800GT ended up retiring the card as nothing fixed it, tried it in different systems, flashed its bios, replaced the HSF, all in vain

    Re: Graphics Problem.

Ok i see your problem. I had the same problem, however it was much worse. My problem indicated that my graphics card was dead and it was only 2 weeks old and happened ever since i installed it. If it happens at start up then you may possibly have the same problem as i did however if it only happens when Windows starts or when your using an application then try lowering or making the refresh rate of your monitor higher. properties/settings/advanced/monitor.

In case your keen here is my problem: http://s949.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=Photo166.jpg

    Ok, good luck!

    Re: Graphics Problem.

    Hi there!

Thanks for all the replies, I have tried to adjust things in the setup and clean the fans incase a build of dust was causing heat and gave up! A friend of mine at work did happen to bring a GFX card in to work one day and let me use that for the time being Im trying a number of items on ebay like 'x series AGP Radeon cards' to keep the machine in a serviceable/usable condition, Should be good til feb when I buy the new I7 rig.

    Regards
