Abit IP35 problem? Unable to boot

    Afternoon,

I recently posted the following for advice on memory config: http://forums.hexus.net/hexus-hardwa...ml#post1247520

Thanks to those that had suggestions. I have been on holiday for the last week and planned on my return to try some of the changes. However after running perfect before leaving I have now come back to a dead PC.
On turning the machine on it powers up fine but I get no display or post. There are no beeps. I have tried clearing CMOS and changing memory, graphics card and hdd but with no look.

Am thinking this could be a processor problem??

    My current spec:

    ABIT IP35 board
    Arctic pro 7
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 4400 @ 2.00GHz
    Geil Ultra DDR2 PC6400 Dual Channel (4 x 1GB) 800MHz
    8800 GTS OC2
    580w Hiperpower

Do you have another power supply to try it with?

PSU is new, less than 2 weeks old. I do however have an alternative..

all you can really do is ring the changes trying to find the offending item.
When doing that use only 1 DIMM installed.

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,

Yea as buff says, it's best to check each componant is known working untill you get down to motherboard and CPU.

Just try it with 1 stick of RAM and the graphics card plugged in.

Re: Abit IP35 problem? Unable to boot

Rather unbelievable how this was fixed. My Machine has a door that covers the disk drives. It would seem that the machine refused to boot because my DVDRW was not shut properly. the moment i removed the offending item and shut the drive it posted. How rubbish is that!
